And here I thought it was all about me.
No one has ever accused me of being humble, but I never would have imagined that the group behind my recent problems had someone else in their sights all along.
They’ve captured Emrick, my heart, soul and connection to this world, and I’m preparing for war to get him back.
We don’t know what the enemy’s endgame is, but if they’ve snared a servant of Death, whatever they’re after could endanger the fate of the world. Along with my team, I’ll stand in their way, and Death itself will have to wait its turn.
Because I’m not done yet. Not by a long shot.

Once again a Masterpiece is created by Miss Walsh with the last and final book in the Immortal Sorceress series. I am saddened that Death of The Sorceress is the last book.. I will miss Kat and her group of friends and family.
With Alodie out of the picture Kat still feel justice for what had happened to Adrian, she still isn't the same. Kat has her magic back in full force but she still feels a loss with out Adrian. The Hunters Guild are still going strong and Kat is still out for vengeance to take the group down. When Emrick goes missing that was the last straw.. Kat starts building her Army to save the Magical Community meaning all that Kat will be asking all Witches, Vampires and whoever will join to take down the Rogue Hunters Guild.
I love Muroppy - Murissa and Poppy duel nickname as they created some very wicked magical toys that will disperse magic potions and are the eyes and ears of anything that moves.
Rhys's gift of being a Seer is what saves he day as he get visions good and ban that help to keep Kat and her family safe when they are in battle against the evils of the world.
Emrick who is the Spirit Herder and half of Kat's heart and soul is the coolest.
Barret the once military man has the skillset of many. I love how he gets Kat tom think clearly.
Gavin the new Sorcerer has now finally come into his own and has master control of his fire magic, hee is a force to be reckoned with.
Then there is Meara Rhys's Mom who bakes when she is worried about her son, Kat and the rest of the group. Meara is Kats House keeper and knows exactly how powerful Kat is.
So, if you love Magic, Witches, Good verses Evil, Happy Endings and Amazing Fight Scenes then you will want to read this book and the full series of The Immortal Sorceress.
Katerina of Palonia (Kat to her friends) is your trope-standard, functionally immortal, elemental sorceress. The elements of fire and ice have coursed through her veins for nearly a millennia. She’s waged war against the forces of darkness and evil for that length of time as well. Emrick, servant of Death and conveyor of magical souls across the veil has been by her side, loving her, anchoring her, and being her connection to life, as ironic as that is. Adrian was the third in their little group, an immortal vampire who moved beyond hunting mortals long before Kat even began walking the earth. Standard setting, standard characters, and standard timeline for a feel-good Urban Fantasy, right?
Adrian isn’t around now, his absence leaving Kat adrift as her enemies gather and trouble still brews around Toronto, and removing Abigail from the board has not brought the respite Kat had hoped. The final battle has begun, and it’s against a group she’d shared a grudging respect with, or so she thought. With Emrick impossibly trapped and the fate of the magical and mundane worlds in the balance, Kat Palon must gather her troops to storm the gates of an enemy so entrenched, so hostile, so zealous, that they’d see the world burn before listening to any level of reason.
“Death of the Sorceress”, by Krista Walsh, is the fifth and final book in her Immortal Sorceress series. Set in and around Toronto (ALWAYS a welcome change from Chicago, New York, LA, and London as settings go), this series has been a trip through the great white north to the depths of magic’s darkest alleys with twists and turns no reader could expect. The book is fun, funny, and an original take on the classic “immortal magic user in a strange land” trope. The writing is clever, the characters fully developed, and the story super engaging. With the slow-burn romance woven throughout the plot that continues to heat up (let’s hear it for skin-to-skin contact baby!) and a really interesting set of lore that keeps things interesting, I can’t recommend this book enough. This story can’t be put down, and you won’t want to anyway. Be careful you don’t get burned though, this series always brings the heat!
I received a free copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the final book in the Immortal Sorceress series and that title scared me witless! Some authors like to kill off their MC's, right?? Well, like me, you'll just have to trust the author to tie up all the loose ends in a satisfying way.
Without giving away the good bits, I'll say that once again Krista delivers a tension laced story, with all the magic and action we've seen in earlier books, written in her perfectly paced prose. The characters are there for each other, showcasing the strong found family bond that is so appealing. And we get to see Cuddles join the fight! How cool is that?!
I just really love this series! These characters are determined, resourceful, caring, funny and have all gone through a lot of growth under our watch. The storyline has always been a loooooonngg arc with gritty, enthralling arcs in each book. Krista Walsh is an incredibly talented writer who can immerse her readers in the brilliant products of her imagination and keep us coming back for more. I absolutely recommend her and all her stories.
I've just finished the ARC of this book, and I can tell you this series is phenomenal! I don't know where the author gets her ideas from, but I'm glad she does!
If you haven't read the other books in the series, go do that. I'll wait. "Tall, and tan, and young and lovely - The girl from Ipanema goes walking and - When she passes each one, she passes, goes 'ah'"
Okay, you're back, or you've read the other books already. Great!
Like me, you're probably very curious about what the big baddies are really after. The book's description says they've captured Emrick. How? Why? HOW?!? As you can imagine, Kat is furious, afraid, determined, and so many more emotions. Her team is, too, and while Kat works on figuring out how to free Emrick, he's trying to figure out why he was captured and what they want with him. And how to stop them.
When we find out, the consequences will rock the entire world. Literally.
I can't say enough about this book. The driving force is Kat's determination to stop the big baddies with everything she has and to preserve her relationship with Emrick. There's so much action in this book as well as character development among the supporting characters and minor ones, love of many kinds, moments of humor, and Battle Cuddles. Yup, you read that right - BATTLE CUDDLES!!! (Battle Cuddles alone is worth the price of the book, in my opinion.)
While this is the series ender, I'm hopeful that this isn't the last we'll see of these characters.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I'm also buying this book because I LOVE this author and everything she writes!
I am genuinely speechless. Wow, what an ending! Brava Ms. Walsh!!!! That was an amazing finale for the series. I loved every minute of that book. Amazing characters, phenomenal writing and storyline, the passion, the love! HEA, but wishing for more!!!
