Eventide, book 2 of the Meratis Trilogy, continues Jeff’s tale, and his struggles in returning to his “normal” world with the effects of his journey still weighing on his shoulders. He can’t write anything new and is faced with the possibility that he’ll have to find something else to do with his life – start everything over from scratch. He feels scattered and ungrounded, and only his relationship with Cassie keeps him hanging on. So when, in the middle of his personality crisis, he gets trapped once more in Raul’s games, he has to work that much harder to be up to the challenge. This time, Jeff is no stranger to his fantasy world of magic and witches, yet Andvell still catches him off guard when he meets Andvell’s queen and the rebellious princess, and a teenage assassin who tries to kill him in his sleep. New alliances and old truces are all that balances Raul’s new threat, and Jeff has to dig even deeper into his psyche to find the strength he needs to stand against it.
